NEW NWA HISTORY NOW AVAILABLE
“The First Eighty Years”, a history, written and compiled by Geoff Jones, is now available at the NWA History Centre. Geoff has very generously acknowledged the assistance of History Centre volunteers and has included copies of many photos now assembled in our museum. Several shots of North Central and Republic aircraft are from a collection of photos gathered by Terry Love.
We are very pleased that Geoff will be on hand at an anniversary reception to be held at the NWA History Center on October 5, 2005. The author will be available from 3:00 PM to 7:30 PM to sign and personally autograph copies of his book.

Did You Know?
Dateline – Minneapolis – Feb., 1929 – “An air mail pilot’s insignia, designed by Col. L.H. Brittin, vice president and general manager of Northwest Airways, Inc. of this city, has been adopted by postal authorities as the official insignia of the United State Sir Mail Service, Col. Brittin announced on his return from Washington.
The badge, which will be worn by pilots in regular air mail service, consists of a pair of gold wings outstretched from a disk having the words “U.S. Air Mail” superimposed in raised letters. Authorization to wear the badge will be given only through the Post Office Department, Co. Brittin said.”
